Bowen therapy can provide wide-ranging benefits to people receiving end-of-life care, and this specialised two-day training workshop gives an overview of the various aspects that should be considered when working in these sensitive circumstances.

The course is accredited and endorsed by the Bowen Technique Academy of Australia and the Bowen Therapy Professional Association. It is open to all Bowen therapists and CPD points are available for all practitioners.

Helen developed the course after personal study and many years of practical experience within the Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice in Peterborough including managing a complementary therapy service in the neurological day centre. After two years as complementary therapy team leader for day services, Helen now volunteers weekly as part of the team, offering Bowen therapy to patients and staff.

Her expertise in the hospice environment played an important part in drawing up the protocols and procedures necessary for therapists who wish to learn more about working in palliative care.

Workshop content covers workplace setting and best practices, liaising with staff, relationship with patient, carers and relatives and policies and protocols that may or may not already be in place. Self-development includes communication and counselling skills.

The workshop is highly interactive with opportunities to practice and ask questions. The objective is to equip therapists with the knowledge, confidence and insight needed to provide an empathetic treatment and ensure best outcome for the patient.
