How long would it take you at the start of the day, to get ready for your therapy practice?

The answers were from five to 45 minutes. Further discussion ensued as to what preparation was needed for different practice… whether the therapist was mobile, attended a clinic or worked from home. It was interesting to hear from everyone what type of activities were carried out before appointments began such as reading case records, making notes and collecting relevant papers or forms , setting up a treatment area, meditating or sitting quietly and naturally adopting a focus for the day or time ahead. An integral part of the workshop is preparation of self mentally before each client; Helen believes a minimum of five to 10 minutes is required to activate the intuition and this procedure is encouraged as ongoing development. The group enjoyed the brain storm session checking with each other further valid steps that related professionally to reflexology and agreeing to look at this aspect again as part of their area group meeting. Continuing to work with intuition and sound, role play was encouraged to reactivate these steps throughout the day.

It was a sunny day and some activities were held outside. Members brought lunch to share and a photo was taken to record the event. This popular group is with the Association of Reflexologists (AoR) and Jo Jeffery has been co-ordinator for many years. She has recently returned from volunteering with reflexology in India and together with another member felt inspired by it as a life changing event. With the openness and dynamics of the whole group, this was a rewarding day as everyone tried different and new ways of using intuition and sound with their own brand of reflexology. A well earned ‘thank you’ to Jo for organising the day.
