In November last year I flew to Belfast to present a weekend course. My host was Margaret Douglas, chairman of the Complementary Therapies Network (CTN) who collected me from the airport and made me feel most welcome as we drove to her home.
The course was held at the conference centre at Lisburn Hospital, which is a regular venue for meetings and workshops. On the first day, I introduced my concept with background on how I had developed my intuition and use of sound and how we could explore practical ways together to understand this further. In the afternoon, the group was able to try out my point holding and ways of using colour, crystals and sound with reflexology practice.
The following day, Part Two started with a useful question and answer session. Everyone agreed there was a natural instinct to using intuition and that by dissolving barriers, namely their own limitations, more could be gained for their clients. In discussing the use of sound for effect upon the individual, one of the group members talked about the old tradition of having a banshee at a funeral. These were members of the local community who possessed high and often eerie voices to be part of the grieving ritual. Throughout the world tribesmen, such as the Australian aboriginals, have often used their voices to heal and free spirits of the land and nature.
In the group, most of the members receiving Sound Reflexology experienced a tingling sensation in the corresponding reflex area of their body. The sound was matching the frequency of the reflex point and bringing it into balance. Some reflexes revealed old injuries, some represented present conditions. The group also used coloured silk scarves over the reflex points as they were carrying out a reflexology treatment. These can be obtained as chakra scarves from crystal and eastern therapy (yoga) websites and shops. Many of us have coloured scarves and these can be used over the reflexes to absorb their vibration or add to it. Everyone tried a crystal to add to or draw away the energy of a reflex area. Each reflexs need was interpreted by intuition and the corresponding sound, colour, crystal or point holding was carried out.
My visit ended with a talk and demonstration of Intuition and Sound Reflexology at the group network meeting on Monday evening.
